Description
From the viewpoint, the Sendero de Los Peregrinos begins, a historic path that connects La Crucita with the municipalities of Güímar, Arafo, and Candelaria. The trail descends through the Caldera de Pedro Gil, crossing the lava flow from the La Arena volcano. This route is particularly significant for many residents of the island's north, who walk it every year on their pilgrimage to the Basilica of Candelaria.
Along the way, you can enjoy a landscape dominated by extensive reforested pine groves, which blend harmoniously with the characteristic summit scrub, such as the retama shrubs. This trail offers spectacular views, both toward the valley, where on clear days you can see the Malpaís de Güímar, and toward the summit.
This path is also an immersion in the rich natural and cultural diversity of Tenerife.
