The Barranco La Arena Nature Camp (ANBA)
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary
2024 is a very special year for the Barranco La Arena Nature Camp (ANBA) as it celebrates 30 years since its creation. This free EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME, managed by the Environmental Education Unit of the Tenerife Island Council, offers the possibility for any group to engage in a few days of Environmental Education activities based in a facility located in the Corona Forestal Natural Park.
The ANBA programme uses this facility to develop the practical side of the programme. Before using the facilities, the group leaders are provided with educational guidance to help them plan their activities. They are supplied with all the information and activities they need. The aim is to motivate active participation in the group. The experience is complemented by a daily programme of good environmental practices in water and energy use and waste management.
Since its foundation, almost 400 groups and 11,000 users have participated in the programme. Without them, the programme would be meaningless. We would also like to acknowledge the support provided by the staff of the Forest Management Service. Their duties include maintaining the facilities and welcoming the groups.
ANBA Programme, 30 years promoting ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION.
