Restrictions on Trails of the Teide Stratovolcano
Access will be permitted only to federated individuals equipped with the necessary gear and certified by the competent federations
The Island Council of Tenerife has issued a Resolution that, due to the condition of the terrain, establishes a temporary access restriction as of January 2nd to the following trails in the Teide National Park:
- PNT 07: Montaña Blanca – La Rambleta
- PNT 10: Telesforo Bravo
- PNT 11: Mirador La Fortaleza
- PNT 12: Mirador de Pico Viejo
- PNT 23: Los Regatones Negros
- PNT 28: Chafarí
As a result, all authorizations to access these trails are revoked while the restrictions remain in effect. Please note that non-compliance with these measures may result in penalties in accordance with current environmental regulations.
Exceptions:
Access will be allowed exclusively to:
Mountain federated individuals, provided they meet the following requirements:
- Have the mandatory basic winter equipment (technical clothing, crampons, and ice axe).
- Present a certification of capacity issued by the competent federations.
- Hold the corresponding authorization processed through the PNT 07 trail sheet on the Tenerife ON website or mobile app.
Active tourism companies, provided they meet the following requirements:
- Legally recognized to operate in the Teide National Park.
- Have guides with the necessary qualifications (mountain sports technician, or higher, and/or similar professional accreditation) to transit snowy terrains.
- Have the mandatory basic winter equipment (technical clothing, crampons, and ice axe).
- Be registered in the Tenerife ON app and have processed the necessary authorizations.
Control personnel may request the mentioned documentation to verify compliance with these conditions.
