Tajinaste (Echium) flowering seaso
Enjoy the flowering season of the Echium, known locally as the Tajinaste, only during the month of June in Tenerife.
In the springtime one of Tenerife’s most well-known natural spectacles takes place - the flowering season of the Echium, known locally as the Tajinaste, which can only be found in Teide Nacional Park. This flower, which can reach up to 3m in height, is also described as the blood of Teide, due to its red colour. Apart from its obvious beauty, it is an important species for honey production, which has its own designation of origin.
