Description
Camino del Risco is the old trail that linked Teno Alto and Buenavista del Norte, also known as Camino de los Muertos.
It received this name because it was the route taken by the locals to bring coffins down from Los Bailaderos to the town centre for burial.
The route starts in Plaza de los Bailaderos, next to the Teno Church, and descends northwards along Camino de La Torre.
It leads across a pass on the way to the Pista de La Mulata and, after reaching Barreras de Puerto Malo, you will continue on a gentle descent until you reach an old tagoror (ancient meeting place), from which point the downhill slope becomes much steeper and offers fantastic views of Roque del Toscón.
The route continues along the Aderno ravine until you cross a raised wooden aqueduct, before reaching Casablanca, which is the end of the route.
