Description
This branch of the PR TF 70 (Guía - Tágara - Boca Tauce) connects with the Chasogo mountain shelter and the first section runs along the PNT 18 (Chavao) trail of the Teide National Park.
You can start the route either from the car park of the Juan Evora Ethnographic Museum, in Boca Tauce, or from the Narices del Teide viewpoint.
The route heads through lava fields at the beginning, with interesting volcanic landforms. Abandonded apiaries may be found along the edges of eroded volcanic lava flows and you will also come across a former threshing floor built on pahoehoe lava, known as Era de la Fajana de Charagueche.
Following the trail, you will leave the lava fields behind and enter an area of pine forest through a narrower stretch of the path known as Paso de Charagueche.
Continue down a slope through predominantly Canary Island pine trees until you reach a flat area at the edge of the ravine known as Era de Cho Juan de Chío or Era de los Guanches.
Once you have crossed this area, the path continues to descend until it meets an old track. Take this track and continue until you reach the side of Montaña de Chasogo, where you arrive at the mountain shelter and the end of the trail.
