Description
The caravan, motorhome, and camper vehicle area of La Caldera is situated high in the Valle de La Orotava, above 1,200 metres, a location that explains the frequent presence of mist and low temperatures.
This area is wooded, where, although the Canary pine is the most abundant, it is mixed with typical species of the Monteverde, as well as stone pines, red pines, and holm oaks.
The crater of the volcano stands out, remaining bare among so much vegetation. According to local inhabitants, trees have never grown there, perhaps because it frequently becomes waterlogged.
It is a fairly popular area, not only due to its easy access via asphalted roads but also because it has public transport, as well as being the starting point or connection for several marked routes for walking, cycling, or horseback riding.
To the north of the caravan area is the recreational area of the same name, whose services and facilities can be used during your stay.
