Description
The Bolico long trail is a walk of about three hours that gives walkers a complete experience of the natural splendour of Teno Rural Park. This route immerses you in the monteverde woodland and treats you to spectacular views of the Teno Massif, allowing you to fully explore one of Tenerife’s most iconic landscapes.
It starts at the charming public library in Las Portelas. From here, take Camino de la Barrera towards Albergue de Bolico (Bolico hostel).
From Albergue de Bolico continue up a steep path, then take the PR-TF 56 trail and continue ascending while enjoying the scenery and the rich monteverde vegetation until you reach Casas de la Cumbre. At this point you will come to the crossroads where you should take the PR-TF 51 trail in the direction of Punta de Teno.
This path will take you across the summit where you will enjoy different views of the Teno Massif on your way, both towards the north side, with the verdant Palmar Valley in the background, and the more arid south side, with views of Masca and Carrizales.
When you reach the next crossroads, descend along the PR-TF 59 trail towards Las Portelas to return to the starting point. The last stretch of the trail runs through predominantly agricultural landscapes.
